In my last post, I shared my favorite landscape photos from 2016. Like I said, my goal for 2016 was to take as many photos as possible and take my camera out frequently. I have always loved taking photos of people, but I was a little too afraid to actually do it and set shoots up. I decided to challenge myself a little and set a few up. Of course, I absolutely loved it. I never thought I would shoot a wedding, bridals, senior photos and take as many family photos as I did. But I’m so happy I got the opportunity to. So going into 2017, my goal is to try a little harder and photograph more portraits. I haven’t shared much of my work so I thought I would share some here. Let me know if you want to book a shoot 🙂
This was by far the best trip to Yellowstone trip I have ever had. My parents invited us to come along on a quick weekend trip to West Yellowstone. I have compiled a list of all that we saw and did. I have never seen as many animals as we did. We also made a whole loop of the park and did so much! I think we ended up seeing all the major sights. [Read more…]
Every couple years, we take a family trip to Newport beach! It is definitely one of my favorite trips because the whole Larsen gang is there and the beach is within walking distance; two of my favorite things! My grandparents are the best and gifted all their kids this trip. Thanks grandma and grandpa! Some highlights of the trip were being with everyone, playing on the beach, boogie boarding, Angel’s game, riding bikes to Huntington, and donuts.
We celebrated the Fourth of July with Blake’s family in Flaming Gorge. We had a blast boating, hiking, and spending time with family. One day, we spent the entire afternoon on the boat; we wake-boarded, skied, tubed, and went cliff jumping. It was such a blast. Later that night, Blake, Dan, Alison, Eric and I went a short hike by our campground to an overlook of the lake. We ended up doing the hike again the next night with everyone. Such a nice little hike with a great view. Here are some photos of our fun weekend and an awesome video that Dan made!
We had the best time in Kauai! We are extremely grateful for the Jenkins’ family for letting us stay with them. They let us borrow a car, a room, and eat their food. It was so much fun to spend time with them and get to know them better. We are already planning a trip back to see them! Here are some highlights of the best trip.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, Blake and I joined my parents in a search for the perfect Christmas tree for their house. We were pretty excited to finally get to go. My dad and brother, Seth, have been in charge of this for the few past years, so we were happy to be involved. Manti Canyon is the prettiest canyon in all the lands, but I may be slightly biased.
A couple weekends ago, Blake and I tried our hand at backpacking. I had really been wanting to hike Lake Blanche so we chose this for our backpacking trip. This hike is pretty hard; it says it is about 6 miles round trip (I swear it is longer!). Those three miles to the lake are all uphill and actually pretty steep; about 2000 feet incline. While getting up was hard, it was well worth it to wake up to the beautiful Sundial Peak.
We started school this week and let me tell you, I was not ready to go back! Finals week was the week before Christmas and somehow I lucked out and had the majority of my finals the last week of class. As a result, I basically ended up with a month-long break. Hallelujah! Once Blake finished his finals, we took a weekend trip to Bryce Canyon. We found a good deal on Groupon for Ruby’s Inn, so we stayed for a couple of days. We went to Bryce earlier this year, but unfortunately we didn’t get to do much hiking. This time we made sure we hiked both the Queens Garden and Navajo Loop trails, highlights of Bryce. It was incredible.
